Our next interview is with a project that has been around in the CNFT space a while, in fact it could be consider an OG project. It’s also a project that may have passed a few people by but one well worth checking out.
We chatted to CAPNKOKKUPUNCH to find out more about the project and what the future may hold.
Tell us a little about Fancy Boy Owners Club, what type of artwork is it, what size drop(s)?
FANCY BOYS OWNER’S CLUB is mostly a community, yeah it centers around my art, but I never think to myself “This is mine! I always think like, “This is ours”.
I’d say the art is a mix of grime, semi-realism, but honestly it’s always evolving. I’m constantly trying to push myself out of my comfort zone to do something dope.
Where did the idea for the project come from?
So, 100% honesty? I say Goose Wayne making Stick figure NFTs and I was like, “Yo, I bet I could draw something grimy” and all of a sudden people were like “Yeah, you need to mint those”.
What makes this project unique?
I came from an oldschool hardcore, rough around the edges lifestyle, so I wanted to do the opposite of whatever big boi projects are doing. I was like I need to figure out how to turn my personality into an art project.

What about the team/person behind the project? Tell us a bit about the team, what are your background(s) and what has lead you to start this project.
The entire team is me, CAPNKOKKUPUNCH, an overly aggressive content creator. Spent the better part of the last 10 years just making content, music, videos, art, etc.
From ages 13-22 I was the lead vocalist of a bunch of underground hardcore/death metal/punk bands. Became a semi pro hearthstone player, and then just decided “Screw it, I’m gunna make what I want, if people enjoy it I’m stoked, if not, I’ll just vibe”
What is the long term vision for the project? Is there a roadmap at this stage or will you be building as you go?
So, I intend on turning FANCY BOY OWNER’S CLUB into a brand, like full blown urban gear. However, the art itself has a story behind it, there’s lore there, so I intend on either making a comic, or Manga to go along with it.

The road map breaks down my vision a bit better, but I intend on really polishing it. My brain doesn’t seem to work like normal people, I spend days, or months thinking, polishing, and concentrating my ideas down to what I consider perfection.
Now currently there aren’t really any great metaverse projects going on, on Cardano, and yeah you could be like “Oh but so, and so has this” but currently, we don’t have much to show for it, however, once all the series have been released we’re going to do some metaverse stuff (I lowkey want to get like unknown underground artists and throwing some digital shows in a metaverse setting).
We first got into CNFTs around September 21 and I feel like that was around the time Fancy Boy Owners Club was getting started? I guess a lot of people don’t know how far back the project goes? How would you describe the changes we’ve seen since Sep?
Ah yeah, we’ve been around for a while, people in my circle say we’re “OGs” of the ADA NFT scene, but we’re the underdogs, so people haven’t heard of us. I say we cause I really believe the community is what made this project anything.
In the beginning I used to do like already minted drops, and sell on CNFT.IO. Those were terrible days, the amount of social media shilling I had to do was dumb. I’ve evolved in the way we do things.
The art was really rough too, like super rough, (so rough I’ve thought about buying all the original FANCY BOYS and burning them haha), but I’ve polished it, I’ve taught myself new art styles.
I also taught myself Python so we could do the generative thing, which feels pretty good. Doing it that way almost feels like opening a trading card pack, like buying some magic cards, and seeing what you’re going to get, it’s super fun.
As a project that hasn’t dropped a 10k sell out PFP and has instead done smaller drops, how do you maintain the motivation to keep creating? Are there times when it becomes a struggle?
I think the hardest part about the entire thing is keeping my A.D.D in control, like I love just creating stuff, videos, memes, art, whatever, I just want to do everything; but FANCY BOYS really became my passion when I started seeing people be like “Dude, this is really cool, I haven’t seen anything really like this”.
There’s like this weird feeling that comes with doing something no one else is. Doing a 10k would be sweet, we’d be able to finance all of our ideas, but doing the same drops almost feels artisan, like this is for us, and if other people want to join cool, but if they don’t, I suppose it’s their loss.
I’m not going to stop anytime soon, so eventually people will be like “Oh aight yeah, this is a full blown commitment, not an over night cash grab”

What got you first interested in Blockchain and NFT’s?
I used to talk so much shit about cryptonerds, like I would constantly piss my buddies off by being like “How’s the bubble today?”.
Well turns out I was an idiot, and this stuff is super fun. There’s just something to being like “I own this, yeah there are more like mine, but I own this, and I’m a part of this community”.
It’s really the like brother/sisterhood of NFTs that I’m interested in.
Why did you choose to launch on Cardano?
Truth? Gas fees. Minting an NFT on ETH was stupid pricey when I was first looking into it.
Like “Yeah sure, lemme just drop $400 to mint this NFT, and pray it sells cause that’s rent money”. After making the choice though it really was the Cardano community (minus some devs who I’m not too fond of) that kept me here.
A few of my buddies have made $100,000s on other blockchains, like “I don’t have to work for 10 years” kinda money, but ADA people are my people, down to earth, understanding, and just all around cool people.
What project would you ideally love to do a collaboration with?
So, there’s this project called HHMC, I think it’s Hell Hyenas Motorcycle Club, and last time I checked they were doing some really cool things, I know they’re working on an FPS game, and I think it’d be sick as hell to see the FANCY GIRLS in that universe.
Please I’m like a sweaty FPS grinder so it’s really up my alley.
Although Goats, and Derps have this like “Fuck it let’s do it” kind of attitude, and I’m also about that. I mean really take your pick, if the devs/artists/founders are cool I’m down to collab with anything doing their thing.
Do you guys collect NFT’s too? What’s your favourite?
I have a bag of Axies, mythic GU player, and I’m a hype lord for any NFT that catches my eye.
Right now I’m not holding much in the way of PFP/Art NFTs cause I’m a flipper (sir, please put your pitchfork down, we all have to eat).
Also, like 4 of the 5 projects I’ve minted recently have been rugpulls, so like, I’m a bit gun shy of grabbing anything until they prove their in this for the long haul.
